Dianne Bos
In addition to photography, her exhibitions often feature handmade cameras, light installations and sound pieces. Her works are held in collections internationally and have been featured in major advertising campaigns and album covers, including a 1996 CD jacket for the Counting Crows. Bos provided designs for 150 street banners that were suspended from Calgary bridges in 2011. She is the recipient of the Barbara Spohr Photography Award from the Banff Centre (2006), and in 2005 she won a Gold National Magazine Award. She, along with Craig Richards, co-founded the Calgary Banff Canmore Photography Festival in 2005.
The 2013 Calgary flood destroyed the basement studio and darkroom where Bos worked and stored a countless number of her photographs, her collection of handmade pinhole and vintage cameras, and her equipment and supplies. With help from friends and colleagues, Bos rebuilt her studio and continues to produce and exhibit her work.
