Eric Cameron
Modernist. Minimalist. Perfectionist. Eric’s artworks (sculptures, drawings, paintings and installations) are created through painstakingly applying numerous layers of paint or gesso to either images or everyday objects. His technical expertise, balanced with personal expression, creates pieces that express a search for truth and push beyond surface perceptions.
His work has been shown in exhibitions throughout Canada and England, and in France, Scotland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, the United States and China. He has received numerous awards, including the Governor General’s Award in 2004 and the Gershon Iskowitz Prize in 1994. He was elected to the Royal Society of Canada in 2009. Eric has also contributed to the art community through critical writing and reviews, and has been featured in multiple publications.
