Frank Vervoort
1930 - 1983
Frank enjoyed spending time outdoors, in the midst of the landscapes he loved to paint. His paintings are well-composed, broad spectrum renderings. Frank did not concentrate on small detail, but sought to translate his observations through bold colour choices, textures and tones. Through his work, Frank attempted to expand his own awareness of his surroundings as well as that of the viewer.
Frank’s work has been shown in exhibitions throughout Alberta, and in Prince Edward Island and Mexico. Some of his paintings are held in the public collections of the Alberta College of Art + Design, the Alberta Foundation of the Arts, Cardinal Energy Ltd., Nova Corporation, Pancanadian Petroleum Ltd., Traditions Fine Art Ltd., as well as in numerous private collections.
