Lee Beames
Beames taught batik at Red Deer College and has instructed workshops in both Alberta and the Northwest Territories. She also implemented an arts-based play therapy program for pediatric patients at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary and taught arts and crafts to preschool-aged children at Calgary’s Allied Arts Centre. Beames was a member of the Canadian Council of Crafts and a founding member of the Commonwealth Sculpture Symposium Society, which created a permanent collection for the city of Edmonton to commemorate the 1978 Commonwealth Games.
