Terrence Keller
1947 - 2014
With roots in cubism, formalism and abstract painting, Terrence’s pieces may seem untidy on the surface, but are really sophisticated, complicated and beautiful. The thick, textured paint and the sweeping gestures give his geometric shapes movement, and the colour mixing and shifts in tonality make each painting utterly unique, and there is little, if any, carryover between pieces.
His works have been shown extensively in Western Canada, and in Toronto, Montreal, New York and Barcelona. Terrence’s paintings are held in the collections of the Canada Council Art Bank, the Art Gallery of Alberta, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, the University of Alberta, the City of Edmonton, the Glenbow Museum, Nova Corporation, Westburn Industries, the Boston Museum Collection, the Solicitor General of New York, and the City of Barcelona as well as in a number of private collections.
