Kenneth HouseGo
After a two-year teaching stint in Peace River, AB, Housego and his family settled in Grande Prairie, AB where he accepted a teaching post at the Grande Prairie Regional College in the Visual Arts Program. He continues to teach at the college to this day. Over his 30 year career he has worked in painting, sculpture, mixed media and collage. His work has a folk art quality, but does not fit neatly into the folk art category because of the artist’s academic education. Housego has had numerous solo exhibitions at the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie, with an exhibition entitled Beacon in 2015 that he refers to as “a mini retrospective of his work”.
