Christine Christos

Christine Christos holds a BFA and a B.Ed. from Queen’s University. She pursued graduate studies in Fine Arts at the Athens School of Fine Arts in Greece and received an MFA in Printmaking from the University of Saskatchewan in 1987. Since she began entering juried shows as a graduate student in 1984, Christos has exhibited widely in Canada and consistently participated in international juried exhibitions, biennials, and triennials. Her work has travelled to Taiwan, where she won a bronze medal in 1997 and a honorary prize in 2001, China, Yugoslavia, Egypt, and Macedonia, for inclusion in six International Graphic Triennials hosted by the National Institute and Museum in Bitola.

Christos served as Printmaking Technician at the University of Saskatchewan from 1984-1990, and was promoted to Head Technician in 1988. Since the late 1970s, she has additionally taught art and art history in secondary schools, colleges, and universities, including the University of Saskatchewan, Grande Prairie Regional College, AB, and Centennial Secondary School in Belleville, ON, where she has served as staff since 1998 and currently leads the Arts Credit Program. Her personal art practice has positively impacted both her four-decade teaching career and the work her students produce.
